Citrus, Woody, Fresh
This perfume is an overdose of vetiver, featuring no fewer than three different varieties in the formula: vetiver from Haiti, India and Indonesia.
‘Ex’ means ‘derived from’ in Latin, so the translation of ‘Ex Vetiver’ into English would be ‘derived from vetiver’!
A feminine fragrance for men
In the lush, winding paths of a French maze garden, three men, captivated by a scent, set out in search of it.
Where does this scent come from?
The men wander through the garden, getting lost in the lush greenery, but they persevere. The woman blends into the greenery and hides amongst the boxwood bushes. Only the scent remains. The lively sharpness of citrus fruits, followed by a bold trio of vetiver.
What is this mysterious scent? They emerge into a clearing, where the woman discreetly drops a bottle of perfume. One of the men approaches and, as she places the bottle on a pedestal, he snatches it. The scent is now his.
Words from the creator
“Juliette has a gun has always been a brand aimed exclusively at women. With Ex Vetiver, I wanted to try something new: a feminine fragrance… especially for men! Until now, all my creations have been aimed at women. For once, that is not the case. I reject the term ‘unisex’; it is the woman who welcomes the man into her world. At the heart of the concept lies a classic in perfumery that I’d never worked with before: vetiver.”
Top notes: Bergamot essence, Lemon essence
Middle notes: Vetiver des Sables (India), Vetiver (Haiti), Vetiver (Indonesia)
Base notes: Ambroxan, Musk
About Juliette has a gun
‘Beauty is a woman’s finest revenge’.
It is no coincidence that this quote from Gainsbourg opens the Juliette has a gun website. The brand, which had its preview at Colette in Paris in 2006, is as rebellious as it is talented – just like the French-Jewish chansonnier.
The creator of Juliette is Romano Ricci – yes, the great-grandson of the legendary couturier Nina Ricci and the grandson of Robert Ricci, the man who developed the legendary perfume ‘L’Air du Temps’.
Despite his pedigree, Romano is a self-made man who managed to bring Francis Kurkdjian on board for his first perfume, but has been working entirely on his own ever since.
Some of the top fragrances include Lady Vengeance, Not a Perfume, Moscow Mule, Vanilla Vibes, Musc Invisible, Pear Inc., Magnolia Bliss and the recently launched Miami Shake.
