The pigment

Garance (Rubia Tinctorum) owes its red colour to its rhizomes. This plant, a historical plant from Charente-Maritime, has been used since time immemorial for the precious dyes of French dresses, curtains and tapestries. In addition to its colouring power, it is rich in active ingredients known for their biological properties.
